I've decided to stop this blog, for now. It takes way too long to upload the pictures, and I hardly ever write anything on here anyway. I'll post pictures on facebook now, for those of you who care to see how our family is growing :)

The boys called this box their "fortout" for a long time until I recycled it (Jake was devastated!)...they just piled blankets, pillows, toys, snacks into it and had so much fun.

We took the family to see a Thomas Live show to celebrate Jake's big milestone of not sucking his thumb anymore at all. It was a very hard habit for him to break and I'm so happy he finally did it! I didn't really get any good pictures from the day, but I think the boys had fun.

We had several fun visits from GramE last month. The kids loved going to Discovery Place.

We've had a lot of snow this winter! Here are a few pics of sledding in a plastic bin on our driveway :) We were thankful to get to know several neighbors during the snow days though!! Jake now has a friend his age that lives right down the street.

I just posted a link below to a friend's blog... we went to church with this family in Charleston and their youngest daughter, Ansley, was recently diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma. Another friend, Jenny Pruitt, sang this Laura Story song called "Make Something Beautiful" and I find it so touching...just wanted to share the link so you could listen to it too.

The boys playing with their Christmas Train...please excuse Jake's messy room. Hopefully we will get it all set up and decorated soon! I definitely underestimated how much time it would take to "feel settled" in our new house!

This was just another lesson to not leave the boys to play by themselves when they are totally quiet. I didn't check on them for a while because I thought they were playing so nicely together...but then when I went downstairs to check...I found that they had torn up a bunch of Styrofoam and scattered the tiny sticky pieces all over the carpet!

We have been very busy with house projects! This kitchen floor catastrophe was one of the most time consuming...but it's done now and looks beautiful! :)

Our Christmas Tree Adventure

This is the first year that we have driven as a family to the mountains to a Cut-Your-Own Christmas Tree Farm. But then it started pouring snow, so we had to turn around. But first we stopped in a parking lot to let the kids play in the snow. They loved it! :)

We ended up going to Lowes again to get our tree this year. The boys were so excited! We also picked up their new playset in a box from Pop and Nana. The guys assembled the playset when Pop and Nana came to visit for Christmas. Our back yard is so much fun now.

I am so frustrated with how to upload pictures on this blog! I finally figured out a way to easily mark pictures and then load them so that I can do more than 4 at a time, but I can't figure out how to get them in the correct order...aaahhh! Sorry that it makes our blog hard to follow. Alright, here are the last of the L.A. pics, in reverse order....

Bobby, Anna, James and I had a fun-filled night in Pasadena the night before we left to fly home. These pictures were taken before my run-in with the law :)

We spent one day in beautiful Santa Monica. Loved it!

I made a point to visit this Sprinkles Cupcakes store, but I was saving the cupcake to eat later that night....and when we got home, there were crumbs all over the counter because their cat ate my cupcake! :) Thanks for the recommendation though, Emily!

James and I got to visit Bobby and Anna in L.A. for Thanksgiving. Thanks to Frank and Zoe for flying us out there and to Gramps and GramE for keeping the kids!! We had such a great time!

Thanksgiving 2010

Since we were all traveling for Thanksgiving this year, we celebrated early at Jon & Sarah's house with a wonderful Thanksgiving lunch. Thanks for making it, Sarah! The kids had fun playing under the table :)

Jake had a Thanksgiving Feast at his preschool. It was very crowded in his classroom with all the parents and siblings. So glad Daddy could join us!

We had fun walking around downtown Charleston after a great reunion weekend with James' Citadel friends. Most of the guys from their company all stayed in beach houses on Folly Beach for the weekend. It was a little crazy with all of the kids now. :) We love going back to visit Charleston and it will always be a special place for us!

The "First" Day of School

I was so overwhelmed at the start of preschool this year, that I never took a First Day picture of Jake. I know, such a bad mom. Well, then after about a month and moving into our new house, I realized that I needed to send Bradley to preschool for one day a week so that I'd have one morning with 3 hours of "free" time to get things done and get our life in order....

so these are pictures of Bradley's first day of school, ever!! and pictures of Jake's 35th day of school or something like that...

it is so hard to get a picture of them both looking at the camera!

Bradley is VERY into sitting in boxes, bins, or whatever he can fit into. These are the storage bins for Jake's train table...but you can find them all over our house these days....filled with toys or a sweet little 20 month-old boy!

James and I took a trip to New Orleans in early October with his firm. I was so thankful that they invited the spouses to the firm retreat this year! We had a great time away...and the boys had fun with Gramps and GramE!

I spent a lot of time with other wives while the husbands were in meetings. We of course went to Cafe Du Monde for their famous Coffee & Beignets.

We are loving our new house!! I can't find the cord to hook my camera up to the computer to upload pictures :( But I have lots of things to update whenever I find it! Jake turned 4 on Oct. 25 and we had so much fun celebrating him. First day of preschool pics for both Jake and Bradley! And Jake's new favorite thing is digging in the mud...he was out in our backyard for 3 hours straight yesterday making a "construction site." Hopefully will be back blogging soon....

Bradley has really gotten into trains - just like Jake did when he was 1 1/2. They love to play together and usually do pretty well without fighting at their train table.

We bought a house in Charlotte! We close at the end of September and we're so excited!

We had a week beach vacation with Pop and Nana at Isle of Palms in August. It was so fun and relaxing. I got to spend time with several friends while I was there. This picture is a Merrill Lynch Ops reunion! :) It was great to see you, Traci and Elizabeth!

Bradley turned 1 on Feb 12 and he took his first steps the night before his birthday!! We were so excited (especially because Jake didn't walk until much later than that and the waiting was hard)! I am trying to get lots of stuff done right now...so blogging has not been a priority - sorry to those of you who like updated pictures :) I have not made any photo albums since the kids were born, so I figured I should start working on that instead of updating the blog for a while. I feel like I am ALWAYS behind on stuff like that. Here are a few updated pictures...

Jake and Bradley took their first bath together at Thanksgiving in GramE's tub and they LOVED it! But they were so crazy that I need to figure out a way to keep Bradley safe....any ideas? One person suggested putting him in a small laundry basket in the tub?

We spent part of Thanksgiving weekend at Aunt Anna and Uncle Bobby's house in Atlanta! It was so much fun!! Jake especially liked his rollaway bed at the hotel :)

This is probably the biggest smile I've ever seen on Bradley's face. He loved riding on Gramps' shoulders.

It was very hard to get all four of them to look at me for a picture :) The boys love our porch swing....especially swinging with Gramps and GramE.

Thanks to Gramps and GramE, we were able to go out for a fun date night. Thanks for being so willing to babysit!

Jake actually had the most fun playing on these "tiger" statues. He really wanted to see tigers, but they didn't have any there, so we told him this was a tiger.

It was at least 90 degrees out and sunny, so Bradley didn't do very well in the heat and we had to keep holding him...but we still had fun!

We started potty training Jake almost 2 weeks ago and he is doing so well! I was anxious about starting the process, but after a day full of accidents he has been pretty consistent since the 2nd day. He loves his big boy underwear that we bought at Target.

Jake loves to lay on the bed with Bradley and they just roll around and laugh. Jake says "the brothers are laughing!" They are really cute together.

Jake helped me make chocolate crinkle cookies for a party. He had so much fun rolling the dough in the powdered sugar.

We took a family trip to Walmart this past weekend to buy Jake's first Big Wheel. They had so much fun putting it together. Jake loves it, but his feet don't quite reach the pedals.

Bradley's First solid food!

We waited until Bradley was almost 5 months before starting to introduce solid foods and it worked so well! He liked it the first time (very different from our experience with Jake at 4 months!)

We spent a few hours at the Bithell family reunion on June 27 and it was great to see relatives!

Nana came to visit for a few days!! It was hard to get the boys to pose for a picture...but they had a great time with Nana!

We got to spend a fun morning at the pool with Brandy and Ella!

They are really starting to enjoy playing together - it is so sweet :)
